Why we work with communities

When a person's mental wellbeing starts to suffer, their social networks and choices for activity and engagement tend to reduce too.

This increases the negative effects of any mental health problems on the person's wellbeing. These effects are felt most by people living in areas where deprivation means there is a lack of available and affordable facilities.

By offering activities through our Communities programme, bWell hopes to prevent the social exclusion that often comes with mental health problems. By doing so, we hope to prevent further ill health and deeper difficulties arising, and to offer support where this has already happened.
