Health Exchange CIC Ltd
bWell Fit Programme
The bWell Fit Programme is delivered by Health Exchange CIC Ltd and aims to reduce the burden on people of everyday life stressors through healthy, therapeutic activities.
It wishes to help individuals address and overcome common causes of poor mental health and wellbeing (which often lead to social isolation), by supporting them to take up a physical activity or leisure opportunity of their choosing.
Anyone who lives in the 11 priority wards of Birmingham (Aston, Bordesley Green, Kings Norton, Kingstanding, Ladywood, Lozells and East Handsworth, Nechells, Shard End, Soho, Sparkbrook, Washwood Heath) can be referred or refer themselves onto the bWell Fit Programme.
Leisure and sports activities available in the 11 priority wards have been identified and entered onto a database (an ongoing process). Clients referred onto the programme will be guided through the process by the bWell Fit Programme Co-ordinator, Feroz Jadhakhan, who will assess any support needs of the individual and discuss what sport or leisure activity they would like to take up. Help can be given to individuals to overcome barriers to exercise and leisure (including financial and social barriers). bWell Fit is a supportive and innovative scheme which is already having a hugely positive effect on participants.
